July 2023: Oregano now matches Dill, pound for pound, and still loves to play, although Dill is starting to grow out of the wrestling phase of kittenhood. We've welcomed new sets of foster kittens into our home and Oregano is the perfect little ambassador every time. He's gone from chatty to outright conversationalist and has the largest vocabulary. Who knew there are so many different ways to say meow? Another interesting update, he's really grown fond of the dog and they love to play chase together! Sometimes he's the chaser, sometimes he's chased.

April 2023 update on Oregano... his unsure past is far behind him! He's a confident, playful, chatty guy who loves nothing more than to hang with his people. He's met several new strangers without any trepidation and loves any human willing to give him pets and playtime!

March 2023: Oregano is now very confident in his foster home and likes to wander from room to room, chirping and looking for a playmate. No more hiding for him and he just wants to play all day! He really enjoys the company of his brother Dill and the resident kitties, but is reserved around humans because of his first few months of life. He is now accepting pets and chin scritches on his terms from his foster family and we are working towards picking him up for snuggles. He is looking for his forever human to show him all the love that he's been missing in his short little life. This human will need to work slowly with him to gain his trust, but the reward for their patience will be beyond measure!

January 2023: This reserved little guy would do best in a home with another kitty to help show him the ropes, preferably an outgoing one so they can demonstrate that not all humans are bad, most just want to give loves and treats... And treats are his favorite thing about humans! His foster dog brother? Oregano's a bit meh about him, mostly he thinks the dog is hyper and annoying and largely ignores him. He hasn't been around kids, but older kids who are gentle and patient might just be the thing for him.

December 2022: Oregano is one of the little boys in a litter of 8. He and his litter mates had a rough start and came to us very sick but he is healthy now and growing like a champ. As his picture shows, he thinks he's big and ferocious but he is actually just a shy, sweetheart. He was prone to hiding in boxes at the shelter and was heading towards the life of a hermit before heading to a foster home.

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
